Club football wins second straight, defeating Williamson Tech 27-10

The Mason club football team went on the road over the weekend and took down Williamson Tech, capturing their second consecutive victory and snapping a three-game losing streak to the Mechanics. This video is also posted on the YouTube channel (Jake McLernon).

'Love South Sudan!' seeks to join Mason community in humanitarian aid effort

Mason Cru, a Christian ministry organization, and the Global Aid Network (GAIN) are partnering in a humanitarian project, called “Love South Sudan!” The initiative calls upon the Mason community to help create “harvester packets” to send to families in South Sudan.

Fifteen-point action plan recommends changes to police operations


George Mason University released a 15-step plan on Oct. 4 outlining action the university plans to pursue regarding changes in Mason police force operations and ensuring the safety and well-being of those on campus. The plan is a result of recommendations and findings made this summer following the Fenwick Library incident in spring 2011 and the creation of a taskforce to examine police and community interactions and experiences.

UPDATE: Ten new SG Senators elected Wednesday evening

Ballots for the Student Government Senate fall election went out Monday to students by e-mail and according to the Chairman of the Elections and Dispute Commission, turnout has been high so far.

The election is for 10 new senate positions in Student Government. The candidates are all either freshman or transfer students.

Voting opened online Monday and will end at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
