Mason rebounds against Manhattan

Fairfax, Va. - The men’s basketball team (8-5) took down the Manhattan Jaspers (8-4) by 20 points, 81-61, to rebound from their first home loss in more than a year.
Women's hoops downs rival George Washington, 58-55

The Lady Patriots got back on track Thursday afternoon by taking down cross-town rival George Washington in a game that came down to the final seconds. (John Powell).
Men's hoops falls to Duquesne, hosts Manhattan Friday

Senior guard Andre Cornelius made his return to the Patriots' lineup Wednesday night in the Patriot Center with 11 points and three steals, however it came in a 75-64 loss to the Duquesne Dukes (John Powell).

Merten on the selection of Cabrera [WGMU]
|George Mason University’s sitting president Alan Merten told WGMU that his successor Angel Cabrera “fits in the mode” of Mason’s accomplishments over the last 40 years, and that he is “encouraged” by Cabrera’s background that is “in many respects” similar to his own.

|George Mason University’s three-year-old mascot, The Patriot, now has a children’s book aimed at kids of all ages. Grown-ups may like it, too.

|George Mason University’s incoming president Ángel Cabrera said he wouldn’t “make that mistake” and fully answer the question readers and WGMU listeners told us we had to ask, “How do you feel about a football team?”
But he did share his “philosophy” on university athletics.

Thunderbird's statement on Cabrera's move to Mason [DOCUMENT]
|Thunderbird School of Global Management released a statement Thursday morning congratulating its current president Ángel Cabrera on his new position as George Mason University's sixth university president.
The statement, signed from Ann Iverson, chair of the school’s Board of Trustees, comments on the “indelible mark” he has left upon the Glendale, Arizona school of international business. It also gives an overview of successes the school has seen under Cabrera's leadership, which began in 2004.
