Mason Police hope to combat sexual assault with defense classes

Mason Police release annual security report outlining campus crime

George Mason University Policed released the Annual Security Report, which includes crime statistics on campus, on Oct. 1. The statistics only include incidents that were reported to police or school officials.

Of the reported incidents, the Fairfax campus saw a decrease in more than half (from 11 to 5) of forcible sexual offenses from 2008 to 2009 according to the report. 

Police officer assigned to work out of dorms

Students now have a police officer working out of a dorm to alleviate concerns of George Mason University residents.

Officer Emily Ross of the Mason Police Department started the assignment on Sept. 13 as the first Mason housing liaison officer. Her office is located in room F204 in the Potomac Heights dorm.

FIFA may come to Mason

FIFA officials came to look at Patriot Stadium Tuesday evening to see if it could be used as a practice facility for the 2018 World Cup.

U.S. Soccer submitted a bid to host the famous world soccer championship in either 2018 or 2022, however they seem to be focusing on the 2018 bid. The U.S. is competing with England, Russia, Belgium and the Netherlands (who have submitted a joint bid), and Portugal and Spain (who have done the same). Indonesia and Mexico have dropped out of the running.

As the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) continues to invade our campus, I thought it prudent to discuss some of the past transgressions of this evil organization. To the Sodexo workers attempting to unionize with them: you should first get to know your would-be master. It will make all the promises in the world but you’ll end up a patsy to its greed. Its laundry list of offenses includes embezzlement, beatings and intimidation.
