A message from senior administrators commenting on last week's snow challenges sent to faculty and staff was intended to be sent to students as well, according to the university's senior vice president.

It started "raining" Monday in Southside when the overhead pipes heated up after a long winter break. Things were a little wet. (Jenna Beaver)

Southside flooded Monday morning. Damage from the water, which came pouring out of two holes in the overhead pipes, temporarily closed one of the dining facilities' food stations.

Mason to film holiday video, invites community to play role

Hold off on your Halloween costume and grab your Greek letters, Mason gear and maybe a fake mug of eggnog-- George Mason University is filming its first-ever holiday video this week.

The video, originally President Alan Merten's idea, will eventually be posted on Mason's homepage and be sent to students, faculty, staff, alumni and others in the community.

All-clear after white powder evacuates Student Union Building II

Student Union Building II was evacuated Tuesday morning due to a hazardous material scare in the building’s mailroom.

Mailroom employees received and opened a suspicious envelope containing “a white powdery substance” which hazmat officials has now determined to be an artificial sweetener, according to university police and school officials.
