OPINION: Differences between college basketball and the NBA are game changers
|A few weeks back, Richmond (13-9) beat Virginia Commonwealth (17-5). Last week, The University of Virginia (15-5) beat No. 19 NC State (16-5). Can anyone tell me what Richmond and UVA have in common? CORRECT! They were both beaten by Mason this season.

[VIDEO] Washington Wizards host season tip-off at Patriot Center
|The Washington Wizards held their fan event, Wizards Tip-Off on Tuesday night at the Patriot Center. The team held an open practice and scrimmage for Mason students and the surrounding community, giving all in the attendance a glimpse into what to expect from a young and upcoming team. The event saw appearances from the Wizards Girls, G-Wiz, the Power Pack and the Secret Service Dunk Squad along with a performance by DC-native rapper Wale.
Young Wizards bond, build for the future at Mason training camp
|After finishing the 2011-2012 regular season with a dismal 20-46 record, Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis needed to make some changes. The changes that had to be made were a priority for a team that had become a laughingstock in the National Basketball Association over the past few seasons. His main focus shifted to building a contender through the draft and by developing young, talented and character players.
Washington Wizards to hold training camp at Patriot Center
|The Washington Wizards will be hosting their annual training camp at the Patriot Center on the Fairfax campus of George Mason University starting Tuesday, Oct. 2.
The team will have two-a-day practices in the mornings and evenings from Oct. 2 to the following Tuesday, Oct. 9. After a week of practice, the Wizards travel to Charlotte, N.C. Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 pm to face the Bobcats in a pre-season game at Time Warner Cable Arena before returning to Fairfax for the final two days of camp.
