OPINION: We Will Buy You a Drink
By Julia Wetzel, Program Board President
Ninety-one percent of the George Mason University students surveyed disagree with you. Program Board discovered the majority of students expressed interest in a performance by T-Pain and indicated a $5 fee wouldn’t be a problem. We learned that many students wanted to see him when he performed at the Patriot Center in the fall. Unfortunately, tickets were priced as high as $120 for the floor. In comparison, $5 is quite a bargain. Program Board also refunds the money through an equivalent Patriot Center concession voucher.
Does $5 really change Mason Day anyway? The activities, food and outdoor music are still free for all. The atmosphere will be the same—an afternoon of fun in the sun. In fact, Mason Day this year stands a chance of trumping years past in sheer quantity of activities and refreshments provided. Hop in a bathtub racer and ride around the lot; grab a snow cone to cool you down; get a balance check from our mechanical bull. Do us a favor, and stop by Lot L and the Patriot Center this Thursday before passing judgment.
