CVPA Opens New Schools

The College of Visual Performing is developing several of its departments into schools. Starting this fall, the departments of music, art and visual technology, and dance will become schools of music, art and dance.
“Being designated as schools will increase the prominence and competitive factors of the programs,” said William Reeder, CVPA dean, in a recent George Mason University press release.
The School of Art will also have a new building this fall, allowing it to accept another 600 students; construction will begin in June for a new performing arts building that will house the schools of music and dance. Mason believes the School of Music will increase its students from 400 to 700.
