Mason In Action: Students Make Cards for Foster Students

One of the Welcome Week activities on Saturday was Mason In Action, a charity event for the Orphan Foundation of America. Students created cards with inspirational messages for new college students who grew up in foster care.

The event started slowly. Mason In Action was looking more like Mason Inaction, but soon students passing by sat down to participate. The organizers saw a steady stream of about 10 to 15 students making cards at a time.

One student sat down to make 10 cards because she grew up in foster care for many years. She wanted to let foster students know that if she could attend college, so could they.
