New Art Building Opens 2.5 Years Late

Mason's new School of Art Building opened for classes today, two and a half years after it was intended to open.

According to the Facilities webpage marking the progress of the construction, the School of Art building was meant to start construction in July 2006 and be finished by January 2007. Instead, construction started November 2007 and was finished for occupancy May 2009.

Lockers in the building will be made available to students eventually, but are not yet ready.

The Connect2Mason team will investigate further and report back with more information on the late opening of this building.
