Student Health Services has reopened, as water service to the clinic has been restored.

A Health Services employee said that the clinic was closed for approximately two hours this morning.

Water service around Student Union Building I is currently unpredictable. Toilets on the top floor work, though the other two floors do not flush consistently. Water fountains on all floors sporadically work.

There has not been a noticeable break in service from Chick-Fil-A, Rathskeller, Jazzman’s or Burrito del Rey.

Due to an interruption in water services, Student Health Services will be closed today.

The water service break affects all of Student Union Building I, where the clinic is located. A Student Health Services employee speculated that a pipe may have been broken by construction nearby, while an Info Desk employee stated that he thought the work was planned. Health regulations require medical facilities to close if they do not have access to water.

Attempts have been made to reschedule all appointments for the day. A nurse said that students could be examined for triage but may have to go elsewhere to be formally seen.

As this is a breaking news story, updates may be made throughout the day.
