Nathan Dorfman on Student Government's Fundraiser for Fisher House
UPDATED 7:27 p.m.
Student Government Senator Nathan Dorfman recently helped with an initiative to help raise money for the Fisher House Foundation, an international nonprofit which operates houses where military families stay over extended time periods, at no financial cost, when visiting wounded loved ones at veterans' hospitals.
Fifteen percent of all proceeds of the events, which was held Monday, April 5, at the Rathskeller, will be donated to Fisher House and support the construction of three new Fisher Houses on the National Naval Medical Center's Bethesda, MD campus.
Dorfman, who also serves as Student Government's liaison to the Faculty and Staff Senate, said that about $1000 was raised from Monday's event. In order to raise awareness for Fisher House's cause, Student Government additionally manned kiosks in the Johnson Center and reached out online to faculty and staff.
The above interview with Dorfman was filmed Monday, shortly before the event's end.
