C2M Joins TBD's Community Network

Connect2Mason joined over 100 local blogs and websites last week by becoming a member of the Community Network at TBD, a new online-only local news site covering the D.C. metro area.
As a member of the network, C2M will be listed in a directory of local blogs and websites that range in coverage from neighborhood events to sports to transportation (and even allergies). TBD additionally has permission to link to stories on the C2M website. If C2M were to break a local news story of interest to the greater D.C. metro community, for instance, TBD may promote the content on its home page or, as it says, “other key spots.” The content itself will continue to reside on the Connect2Mason site.
An invitation was also extended to join a related shared-revenue advertising network, but C2M declined the offer.
C2M is the second college media outlet to officially join the network. George Washington University’s independent student newspaper, The GW Hatchet, became a member in late July.
Another Announcement: Connect2Mason will be undergoing major maintenance this week in preparation for the switch to Version 3.0. In order to make a smooth transition, comments and new user registration will be disabled. Those who wish to sign up for an account during the interim may e-mail exec.editor@connect2mason.com.
