Registration for spring courses begins Tuesday

Registration for spring semester courses opens for graduate students today. Registration times are then assigned in order of completed hours, from most to least. There is an exception for newly admitted freshman and transfer students who must register at their mandatory orientation.

The full list of registration dates is as follows:

11/2 - Graduates
11/4 - Seniors
11/8 - Juniors
11/10 - Sophomores
11/12 - Freshman
11/17 - Nondegree Graduate
1/5 - Nondegree Undergraduate

Students are instructed to visit PatriotWeb to verify their registration time and to be notified of any administrative holds that may prevent them from registering.

ANTH 313: Myth, Magic, and Mind
(3 credits)
For three credits, students take on mythology, rituals, symbolism, and dogma. The magic part is for you to find out! This course can be used to fulfill the Global understanding General Education Requirement, according to the course listing.

PHED 158: Underwater Hockey (1 credit)
Maybe you would prefer some underwater instruction? Or maybe you're looking for that final, one credit class to round out your schedule? Junior communication major, Gary Utley, gave the course his strong recommendation after taking it freshman year.

"It’s definitely a unique sport filled with endurance and 3 different sport’s concepts wrapped into one,” he said.

Sudents who wish to take the course must have completed PHED 150, or receive permission from the instructor. There is also a fee required for the course.

ASTR 302: Foundations of Cosmological Thought (3 credits)
For the thinkers, star gazers and philosophers, this astronomy course introduces students to the scientific, historical, and philosophical foundations of cosmological thought. No background in mathematics or natural sciences is required and the course can be used to satisfy the General Education Requirement for a Natural Science non-lab course, according to the course listing.

NCLC 355: Consciousness, Meaning and Life Purpose (3 credits)
This course, offered by the university's New Century College, allows students to explore states of consciousness, stress-reduction methods, and even how to find meaning in dreams. Students also spend time examining how to find life meaning and purpose, as well as how to utilize talents.

TOUR 110: Professionalism and Civility
(1 credit)
Time to reverse the bad manners and bad habits! Table manners, professional conduct, electronic etiquette and social networking are just a few of the topics covered in this course. The course also places special emphasis on the cultural needs for professional and responsible behavior.
