An agreement for GMU professor arrested for alleged child pornography possession still pending
An agreement has yet to be reached in the child pornography case involving part-time Italian language professor, Diego Fasolini, the GW Hatchet reported.
“Nothing has been agreed to at this point,” Moore was quoted as having said by the GW Hatchet. “We’ll see what happens.”
Discussion between Fasolini’s attorney and the U.S. attorney assigned to the case will continue outside the courtroom. Magistrate Judge John Facciola has allowed both sides to continue working on a plea agreement.
Fasolini was arrested on the George Washington University campus, Oct. 28, after police discovered over 100,000 images of child pornography on an external hard drive allegedly belonging to Fasolini.
Fasolini was granted conditional release from jail on Nov. 12 and will continue to be electronically monitored until the next scheduled hearing Dec. 20 at 9:30 a.m.
Less than a week following his arrest, University Spokesman Dan Walsch confirmed Fasolini has been dismissed by George Mason University.
C2M will continue to monitor events in this case.
