Spring fashion blooms at Mason

Spring has finally arrived in northern Virginia, which means goodbye North Face jackets, Ugg boots and comfy pea coats, at least until the cold weather comes back. Some trends coming up for the spring are floral print tanks and tee’s, chiffon tops, ruffled dresses and loose, flowy cardigans. Skinny jeans and ballet flats for ladies are a must, but vests and flared jeans are making a big comeback this season. A lot of trends right now are based on a boho-chic style. It’s all about feeling comfortable, loving how you look, and having fun with what you’re wearing, without over doing it.

As far as accessorizing, big chunky plastic jewelry is popular as long as it’s not too overdone. A bright chunky necklace or cuff bracelet compliments a simpler outfit very well. In contrast simple metal jewelry is also very trendy, as well as easy to pull off. Earrings with tassels or fringes can add a playful look to many outfits. A simple headband is also a nice accent, too. Bright colored bags, leather or fringed purses are a great trend right now.

For makeup, less is definitely more. Some basic mineral foundation, and a little smudged liner and shadow is all you really need. However, if you want to add some color for fun, some pastel eye shadow or red-orange lip gloss, or a little bit of bronzer or peach colored blush adds a nice contrast. This trend is really nice because it’s easy to achieve, and looks nice on anyone. Take advantage of this opportunity to show off your natural beauty.

For both guys and girls, plaid tops are a great classic look. Khaki pants and shorts with a pair of casual comfy shoes are a great look for men. TOMS shoes and Converses are a great everyday option. Blue is a great color to incorporate into your wardrobe as well this season.
