Northern Neck Starbucks now open 24/7

Good news for anyone who depends on their late night and early morning coffee, the Starbucks location on the first floor of Northern Neck is now open 24/7. The popular hangout, study locale and caffeine provider decided to expand its hours of operation at the beginning of the semester.

Formerly, Starbucks was open 24/7 most days of the week, excluding Friday and Saturday nights when the store suspended service for eight hours.

The change occurred because general manager Alpha Bah thought, “Why not?” Bah wanted to accommodate every student at the university and make sure Starbucks was available to them.

Mason’s students seem to be responding positively to the expanded service.

“I appreciate that the Starbucks has changed to 24/7 hours because I’m up for many of those hours,” noted Freshman Hannah King.

“I think it’s a good thing,” agreed graduate student Nicole Dunifon.

Bah said he was also interested in what the change would do for sales.

As of yet, Bah isn’t sure of the direct effect of the new hours on sales. Although late hours of the night are not Starbucks’ most busy, sales seem to be improving.
