Mason Alum: Tracy Dove '86

Tracy Dove remembers when East Berlin residents swarmed the checkpoints at the Berlin Wall on Nov. 9, 1989.

“I took chips of the Berlin Wall to [give] to my friends as gifts,” Dove, editor and columnist for The Russia News Service, said in a phone interview last week from Prague.

“It was the only time all Germans were happy at once.”

Super Smash Bros. Offers All Things Nintendo

Super Smash Bros. is the kind of game you and your buddies might’ve fantasized about in grade school. The original Smash Bros. that hit the Nintendo 64 in 1999 created one of the best party games ever. Its Gamecube successor in 2001 added a toy chest of extra content. The new Super Smash Bros. Brawl feels like an encyclopedia of everything Nintendo.

Most voters are letting their gut instincts act as the deciding factor for which candidate to vote for in the current election, says Susan Tolchin, professor in GMU’s School of Public Policy at George Mason University.

    Severe Storm, Gusts Up to 45 MPH for Fairfax, Va.

    A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service and will remain in effect until 4 a.m.

    Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 45 MPH and can potentially cause severe damage.

    Additionally, a coastal flood advisory will be in effect until 6 a.m.

    Denver Postcard: Just Landed and Already at Work

    DENVER - It feels a little different being 5,656 feet above sea level, but the scenery here on the outskirts of the Rocky Mountains is beautiful.

    We are staying in the Marriott Denver Tech Center. Already ran into Coach Larranaga and Folarin Campbell while heading to the atrium to get wireless service. The Green Machine is here, as well, in full force and those guys can't wait to perform tomorrow evening.

    Fairfax Campus Hosts NCAA Watch Parties

    The Johnson Center Atrium and Bistro, as well as the Corner Pocket game room and Damon's in Student Union I will open to basketball fans at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, according to Sandy Hubler, vice president of University Life.

    These venues will air the 9:40 p.m. game and toss out giveaways.
