Randall's Rhythms Brings Autumn Lost to PWC

By Connect Mason Reporter Rashad Mulla

Randall's Cafe of Mason's Prince William campus hosted local acoustic rock band, Autumn Lost, today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

More than 40 students attended the free program.

Band members Mark Bowen and EJ Crespo performed covers of hit songs, such as Van Morrison's legendary single "Brown Eyed Girl" and The Eagles' "Hotel California." Later in the program, the band sang some of their own songs, such as "Home," which can be heard on their MySpace page.

Tanya Ballestrini, special events coordinator at the Prince William campus, said she was looking for a relaxing, acoustic band to perform at this event, and Autumn Lost delivered. The band, she said, represented a change from the regular musicians who played at Randall's Café last semester.

"They were really excited to come and play [here]," Ballestrini said.

Autumn Lost's performance came after last month's cancellation of Randall's Rhythms, when local musician Jake Laufer was unable to perform due to sickness. Laufer, who has performed at Mason before to good feedback, will perform at Randall's Café on April 1. It will be the final Randall's Rhythms of the semester.

Local musicians wishing to perform at future events are encouraged to contact Charvis Campbell (ccampbe7@gmu.edu), Assistant Dean of University Life at Prince William.
