Mason professor wins state award
|The 2011 Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award, the highest honor for faculty members teaching at the state’s universities and colleges, will go to George Mason University psychology professor Eden King.

Polish philharmonic to perform at Mason
|The Center for the Arts will receive a visit from Opole, Philharmonic of Poland on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m..
Music will include works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Frédéric Chopin. The orchestra is one of Poland’s leading philharmonics and has performed for the Vatican, as well as received awards such as the State Award for Arts Excellence by the Polish ministry of culture.

A message from senior administrators commenting on last week's snow challenges sent to faculty and staff was intended to be sent to students as well, according to the university's senior vice president.
