Former Georgia Tech men's basketball coach Paul Hewitt will be the new head coach of the George Mason University men's basketball team, according to Mason Athletics.

Daejayon to host 'green' fashion show
|Daejayon, a new student group on campus that focuses on environmental issues, will be hosting a fashion show this evening, April 28. Titled “Going GREEN on the Runway,” models will strut their stuff while wearing clothes made entirely of recycled materials including garbage bags, newspapers and plastic bottles.
The fashion show will take place in Dewberry Hall from 7 – 9 p.m. and will also feature speakers who will discuss issues currently facing the environment.
Mason's Testival says 'Protect Your Jewels'

Due to rain, this year's Testival was moved to Dewberry Hall, where students learned about testicular cancer and how to prevent it. As men on campus learned to "protect their jewels," the theme of this year's festival, students participated in demonstrations, picked up informational packets and played games that focused on testicular cancer awareness.
New housing jobs to shift RA duties from desks to floors

Starting in the fall of 2011 resident advisers will no longer be required to man housing desks. The Office of Housing and Residence Life will be introducing a new post, that of desk assistant, to fulfill the function once carried out by RAs.
Off-Campus Student Programs office to host end of semester events
|Drive-in movies and a study lounge are the latest offerings from the office of Off-Campus Student Programs and Services.
The office is collaborating with Weekends at Mason to sponsor two old-fashioned drive-in movies. The event is reserved for Lot L with movies playing on a large screen set up in the parking lot.
Jackass 3D (rated R), is planned for May 5 at 8:00 p.m. Gnomeo and Juliet (rated G), will show on May 6 at 8:00 pm. Admission and refreshments are free; and both movies are open to the community.
