Expo focuses on educating community on environmental issues

The Office of Sustainability held their Environmental Expo yesterday, April 21 in conjunction with its Earth Week celebrations.

Men's Basketball Coach Jim Larranaga has agreed to take the vacant coaching job at the University of Miami, according to Mason Athletics.

Video conference with Google to be held on all three campuses

The Information Society Movement and The Volgenau School of Engineering  are hosting a video conferencing session with Google today, April 22 on all three campuses.

Miami given permission to talk to Larranaga about coaching vacancy

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate to speak at Mason

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Shirim Ebadi has spent her life defending the rights of women, promoting human rights and helping children and political prisoners in Iran; and this Friday she will speak at Mason.

Ebadi won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003 and on Friday she will discuss her recent book, “The Golden Cage.”

Ebadi was the first Muslim woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize and was one of the first female judges in Iran. She has published over 70 articles and 13 books dedicated to protecting human rights.

The Only wins this year's Battle of the Bands

Program Board held their annual Battle of the Bands on April 19, where participating bands vied for a spot on the main stage at this year’s Mason Day concert on April 29.

Although the event saw only a handful of attendees, those who came were treated to riffs and tunes from the various bands.

Cash is king ranks as students’ top concern

Money is routinely cited as a top concern among college students, both in the form of paying for school and for more common tasks of eating or commuting, according to a new Associated Press-Viacom survey.  Money also dictates choice of school and whether or not to finish once your start.  Forbes has a complete look at the survey.

Mason celebrates Earth Week

George Mason University will continue its celebration of Earth Week until April 30. The “week,” which focuses around Earth Day on April 22, spans over a series of several weeks starting in March. The events aim to enlighten members of the community on environmental issues and demonstrate how everyone can help keep the planet healthy.
