Mason women's volleyball falls to Duquesne 3-0
|Mason women’s volleyball team lost Friday night against Duquesne three sets to none. The Duquesne blocking was the story of the match, which they ended with eleven blocks to Mason’s five. Most of these came in the first set causing the Patriots to switch up attacking formations to get around the blockers. Mason fought hard in the second and third sets but ultimately lost them both.
Mason Board of Visitors “Ahead of the Curve” on new Virginia law
|The Virginia Legislature passed a bill earlier this month that sets forth mandatory requirements for state university governing boards, including Mason’s Board of Visitors.
The bill, #1952, requires governing boards to be transparent in regards to board meetings. However, Rector Clemente, the head of Mason’s Board of Visitors, claims that these requirements are nothing new for them.

|Mason men’s soccer team will face off against Rhode Island on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at George Mason Stadium in their last home game of the season. This is a rescheduled match from October, when pour playing conditions and heavy rain caused the game to be called off in the 55th minute with Mason up 2-0. The Patriots (7-2-3, 2-0-2 A-10) are undefeated at home and will look to finish off strong before heading to George Washington on Sunday to take on the Colonials.
Novelist and Filmmaker assesses the impact of story telling on famous murder trials
|The Department of Criminology, Law and Society hosted a night exposing failed murder cases and what caused them to fail with famed novelist and filmmaker Mark Olshaker .
On October 30th, Olshaker focused on three highly publicized murder cases- the West Memphis Three, Meredith Kercher (the Amanda Knox case), and JonBenet Ramsey.
