Hartford Hawks top Mason baseball 4-3 in game 3, but Patriots take series 2-1 over weekend
|The Hartford Hawks defeated the Mason baseball team today 4-3 in 12 innings. The rain, which started in the 8th inning, did not stop these teams from finishing this one off.
Hartford outfielder Ryan Lukach drove in the game-winning run with a short fly ball over the outstretched glove of Mason’s Tucker Tobin. The Patriots had a chance in the bottom of the 12th when Ray Toto reached base. A fly ball to right field ended their hopes to win the game but they still took the weekend series 2-1.
Game 2 called in seventh inning as Mason baseball tops Hartford, 1-0
|Incoming cold weather shortened the second leg of the double header to seven innings, but it yielded another 1-0 Mason win.
Third Basemen Blaise Fernandez put the Patriots ahead in the first inning with a line drive double into right-center field. Josh Leemhuis came around to score after he had walked earlier in the inning. This was a pleasant surprise from the game before where it took until the 6th inning for Mason to plate their first run. However, a couple of double plays ensured that this would be their only run in the game.
Mason women's volleyball defeats Fordham 3-1 on Senior Night
|The Mason women’s volleyball team defeated the Fordham Rams three sets to one on Senior Night at the RAC on Saturday. The first, third, and fourth sets were highly competitive, with the first and the fourth set exceeding 25 points for a winner to emerge. The Patriots came out victorious due to huge contributions by seniors Tori Price, Lana Zonjic and Laura Spencer. All three put on a show in their last home match of their careers. Zonjic and Spencer led the way for the Patriots with 14 and 12 kills respectively, while Price tallied a team-high 41 assists for the Patriot offense.
Mason women's volleyball falls to Duquesne 3-0
|Mason women’s volleyball team lost Friday night against Duquesne three sets to none. The Duquesne blocking was the story of the match, which they ended with eleven blocks to Mason’s five. Most of these came in the first set causing the Patriots to switch up attacking formations to get around the blockers. Mason fought hard in the second and third sets but ultimately lost them both.
GW sweeps Mason women's volleyball
|Mason women’s volleyball team fell 3-0 at home on Sunday to George Washington. Mason played well in each set but ultimately did not do enough to avoid the sweep. Mason lost the first set 19-25, the second set 17-25, and the third set 22-25. The loss drops Mason’s record to 6-17 overall and 2-7 in Atlantic 10 conference play.
Mason women's volleyball drops A-10 home opener to Saint Louis
|The George Mason University women’s volleyball team lost their Atlantic 10 home opener on Friday night in a 3-1 loss to Saint Louis. George Mason took the first set 25-15 before dropping the next three 16-25, 14-25, and 21-25.
The Patriots came out firing in the first set landing 14 kills out of their 32 total attempts, while only committing two errors. This, combined with nine errors from the visiting Billikens, led to a 25-15 first set victory for Mason.

|The George Mason University women’s soccer team ended their two-game losing streak on Saturday night, beating Old Dominion 3-0 at Mason Field.
