Student survey leads to Lupe Fiasco pick
|Students flocked the Patriot Center Box Office Thursday to purchase tickets to see Lupe Fiasco perform at the Patriot Center next month. Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. and hundreds were sold within hours.
Lupe was asked to perform at Mason as the result of a student choice survey conducted by the Student Involvement Office last summer.
Despite drop in funds raised, GBAY organizers pleased with event
|Mason’s third-annual GBAY raised $5,000 this year, one-third of the total from last year’s event. Despite the drop in funds raised, organizers say the growing atmosphere around the event was a sign of success.
Pulitzer-winning ‘Proof’ tour stops at CFA
|Fairfax County native and actress Alex Keiper will perform for the Mason community Friday evening when the Walnut Street Theatre production “Proof” arrives at the Center for the Arts.
“It’s like a huge homecoming,” said Keiper. “I’m excited to be able to share all of the hard work I’ve been doing. It’s a big pay off that most actors don’t usually get.”
“Proof” will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at the Center for the Arts.
Student appeal leads to new ‘family emergency’ policy
|Provost Peter Stearns announced a new policy last Wednesday outlining protocol for dealing with student family emergencies, specifically a death in the family. The policy decision follows a student appeal to address the issue.
