Kendrick Lamar plays at Mason with the help of PAC
|One of the biggest events at George Mason University each spring semester is Mason Week, especially it’s spring concert. The week is celebrated at the university with a slew of events. For this year’s spring concert, the Patriot Activities Council (PAC) will be hosting hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar at the Patriot Center. Recording artist Kendrick Lamar was named “The Hottest MC in the Game” by MTV this year.
Pride Week event highlights overlooked LGBTQ African-American authors
|The stories of black gay and lesbian writers are often erased from history. Even when homosexual, black authors have been included in history, like Langston Hughes, their sexuality is often erased from their narrative. American students often learn about Hughes’ poems such as “A Dream Deferred,” but rarely do they hear about his poem “Café 3am” which describes police brutality against the gay community.

Art exhibit draws on themes of time
|This past Thursday, nine different artists filled the Fine Art Gallery in the Art and Design Building with their drawings. In an exhibit entitled Draw(n) Out, these artists showcased their work focused on the theme of time. Draw(n) Out’s purpose was to push the boundaries of the ideas people have about drawing.
Mason Players presents "Where Has Tommy Flowers Gone?"
|Outside of George Mason University's de Laski Performing Arts Building, the Mason Players are rehearsing for their upcoming performance of the play “Where Has Tommy Flowers Gone” by Terrence McNally.
The play follows the rebellious Tommy Flowers as he struggles against being an adult. Using his dark wit and sarcasm, Tommy takes the audience on a wild ride through New York. His complexities are sure to have the audience simultaneously sympathize with and detest him.
