Patriot Platoon member talks infatuation with tiny pieces of paper

As a precursor to every home basketball game, some members of the Patriot Platoon diligently tear programs into pieces of confetti. They unleash tiny pieces of paper into the air in stoms of jubilation when the team scores.

Women Patriots' comeback thwarted by Towson, fall 59-53

The George Mason Women’s Basketball team (12-14, 6-9) fell to Towson (9-17, 3-12) 59-53 Sunday afternoon at the Patriot Center. Towson has now won seven straight against the Patriots dating back to the 2006-07 season.

Both teams struggled to open the game, as only 15 combined points were scored nearly halfway through the first half.

Patriots extend nation's longest win streak to 13 games with victory over Northern Iowa

Women's hoops defeats Delaware, 67-56

The Mason Women Patriots (12-13, CAA 6-8) swept the regular season series with the Delaware Blue Hens (15-10, 8-6), winning 67-56 Thursday night in the Patriot Center.

Head Coach Jim Larranaga won his twelfth consecutive game on Tuesday in Richmond, Va. at the Siegel Center. The Patriots commanded the boards, getting 37 rebounds to the Rams' 28 and shot 46.9 percent en route to a 20-point victory for sole possession of first place.
