WAVES sends students off with tips to keep safe over spring break

While Spring Break can be fun and relaxing, it can prove to be dangerous to some college students. WAVES held safety awareness events during the week of March 2 to help prepare students for Spring Break.

One of the events was called “Sex on the Beach.” Named after the fruity cocktail, Sex on the Beach was an informative event that discussed the dangers of mixing alcohol with sexual activity. According to statistics, 50 to 72 percent of sexual assault perpetrators were under the influence of alcohol in sexual assault cases amongst college students.

Connect2Mason will be taking a little break for the next week because of the spring vacation. However, our Sports Editor Pat Carroll will be updating a LIVE blog on the CAA Tournament starting on Saturday, March 9. Because you may still be on campus during break –  don't worry, some of us are too –  we searched around Mason's website for perhaps useful information: altered hours of operation.

Below is a round-up of that information (in one location, hopefully for your convenience). 

Main Buildings

The Johnson Center will be open 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. from Saturday, March 10 to Sunday, March 17.

Mason Spring Break Hours of Operation

Main Buildings
The Johnson Center will be open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. from Saturday, March 12 to Sunday, March 19.

The Bookstore in the JC will be open 9 am to 5 pm from Monday, March 14 to Thursday, March 17. Friday it will be open from 9 am to 4 pm.


Dining Services
In the JC, Burger King will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday, March 14 to Saturday, March 19.
