CAA Swimming and Diving Championships - Day 4

Mason men and women finished fourth at this weekend's CAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Eric Knight was named the 2008 CAA Men's Most Outstanding Swimmer.

Claire Weems, in the previous heat of the Women's 100 Freestyle, had scored the
same 53.39 time as Meghan Heil from James Madison University. In an
unbelievable rematch, Weems and Heil tied with a time of 52.77. On the
second rematch, Weems won with a time of 52.20 over Heil's time of 52.64.

Mason placed fifth in the Men's 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:29.35.

In the women's division through Event 35, Mason held a 77 point lead in fourth place with a score of 372.0. Towson had widened the lead to 240.50 points over Mason in first place; UNCW had taken second place, followed closely by William & Mary in third.

In the men's division through Event 34, Mason held third place with a score of 384.5 and a small nine point lead over Delaware. UNCW still held first place over ODU with a score of 540 points.

By the end of Event 39, the women's team from Towson had taken first place with a score of 719.5. Mason held fourth with a score of 406.0, having widened the lead over Delaware to 91 points.

The men's team from Delaware had taken third place over Mason with a 16.5 lead over Mason's score of 448.5 points.

In the Men's 3-mtr Diving competition, Ryan Metzker took fourth place with a score of 302.10; Justin Mallette took eighth place with a score of 251.05.
