By Connect2Mason Breaking News Director Matt Todd

Time to graduate! This week is the week to prepare for graduating seniors. Graduation is coming up and it’s time for photos, video, class rings, diploma frames, caps, and gowns. The Commencement Fair is being held at Dewberry Hall in the Johnson Center, where seniors can start gathering their commemorative pieces bidding adieu to George Mason. The Commencement Fair will be held today Feb. 25 and Thursday Feb. 26 from 11am-7pm.

Senior pictures are being taken today and tomorrow, and will be taken once again Mar. 23 and Mar. 27. Students pay a $10 fee to get their picture taken and are required to wear suits and blouses (men have to also wear a tie). For an additional $30, students can also participate in the video yearbook, sharing quotes and their experiences at Mason. (NOTE: the video yearbook participation will not be available Mar. 23 and 27).

If students want to order picture packages, they can visit www.ezportraits.com for prices, order information, etc. Have your Student ID in handy and school code when logging in.

Seniors can also purchase class rings, which range from a minimum $309 to over $1,000 (if they want to add diamonds). Students can also purchase their rings online throughout the semester, but if purchased at the Commencement Fair, students can save $14.95 in shipping and handling.

Students can purchase frames for their diplomas and the prices range $110 to $220. But if purchased at the fair, they’re able get 10% off and save $25 shipping and handling. The $25 is included in online purchases.

Caps and gowns for undergraduates will be $44.98. For masters, the price will be $74.98. And for PhDs, the prices are $109.98. Those prices are this week only if students purchase them at the fair.

The fair will also have portfolios, coffee mugs, picture frames, license plate frames, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other miscellaneous souvenirs available to sell.
