Dining Services Unable to Take Credit Cards
By C2M Managing Director Rachael Dickson
Campus eating establishments are currently unable to take credit cards in payment due to an error in the system out of Dining Services' control.
The system failure affected the operations of many new eating establishments, such as Burrito del Rey.
"There is a major problem with the system," Sodexho Campus Services Resident District Manager Denise Ammaccapane said. "We’re not sure if it’s campus related, Blackboard related, or what. They've been working on it furiously for the last four days."
A few establishments on campus such as La Patisserie, Taco Bell and Rathskeller are able to take credit cards due to separate cash register operations.
"It’s just been a challenge not being able to take credit cards over the weekend and on the first day of school," Ammaccapane said. "We’re trying to put up as many signs as we can warning people."
The opening of the Ike's Convenience Store, planned for last Saturday, was put off until further notice due to problems uploading the register's software.
Ammaccapane did not know when the system would be able to take credit cards again.
