McCain, Clinton Take Florida, Edwards Steps Out

Notes from the Political Frontline

McCain beats Romney in Florida, Giuliani comes a distant third after placing all his eggs in the Florida basket.

Clinton beats Obama in Florida, but there were never any delegates to win and Senator Kerry told reporters on a call organized by Obama staffers that “It is not a legitimate race.”

Edwards will drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination reports the New York Times and the Washington Post after being unable to steal any of the spotlight from Obama or Clinton.

Now we just have to sit back and see if McCain’s momentum will continue on into Super Tuesday, if Clinton’s win in Florida is as inconsequential as the Obama camp is trying to spin it or if it is a precursor to what will happen February 5, and if the passing of the ‘Kennedy gauntlet’ onto Obama will help the Illinois Senator on his way to a Democratic nomination.
