The baseball team, which was riding a 10-game winning streak earlier this season, will host the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks this weekend in a matchup between the CAA juggernauts.

The Seahawks (17-5, 5-1) dropped two games last week, but the team continues to display their strong offense.

Sophomore catcher Cody Stanley and junior infielder Robbie Monday lead the team with six home runs each. Stanley and Monday are batting .287 and .286, respectively.

The two will be matched up with Mason’s sluggers senior left fielder Scott Krieger and junior first baseman Justin Bour.

Mason’s 14-9 win over the Seahawks in last season’s CAA Tournament was sparked by five-RBI performances each from Krieger and Bour. Krieger hit a home run while Bour belted two.

The softball team dropped their first three conference games to the defending CAA champion Hofstra Pride last week.

Mason looks to have a better showing at home this week against the Drexel Dragons.

The Dragons (12-10, 1-2) are led by junior catcher Ashley Botelho, who has four home runs and 21 RBIs. She also leads the team with .429/.487/.700 averages.

Freshman catcher/infielder Paige Collings complements Botelho with a .305 batting average, two home runs and 10 RBIs.

The women’s tennis team host the Towson Tigers on Tuesday and Drexel on Wednesday. The men’s team will also play host to Drexel on Wednesday at the Robinson Tennis Courts.

Both teams returned from Howard University last weekend with the women winning 5-2. The team improved to 6-6.

On the other hand, the men fell to the Bisons 7-2. Freshman Jorge Osuna provided Mason with their lone win in singles play. He and senior Jordan Lipstock won their doubles match.
