After a second wave of winter weather dumped more freezing rain with ice accumulations of more than a quarter-of-an-inch, George Mason has decided to delay classes until noon today, Wednesday, Jan. 28, according to the University Web site.

Added at 8:16 a.m. Though the e-mail alert sent to students at 5:37 a.m. says the School of Law would be opening at 10 a.m., the Law School has updated their decision and will be opening at noon. The Law Library will open at 11 a.m.

Once the consistent snowfall went into a slight lull yesterday afternoon around 4 p.m., the snow started again briefly before it changed over to freezing rain and sleet.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until noon today for the Northern Virginia area, according to Yahoo! Weather. Periods of freezing rain and drizzle is expected throughout the morning hours as temperatures gradually rise. It is expected to change over to all rain by the early afternoon hours.

Despite delays for the Fairfax campus, the roads will still be hazardous and visibility will be limited. All students are urged to drive very carefully.
