REVIEW: Audiences Hear a Witty Who

Horton Hears a Who! animators blended together the right amount of Seuss wit, modern references and all-star actors to bring this 1954 classic to a new level.

Horton's writers (Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio) expanded the plot beyond that of the original book and 1970 cartoon feature to incorporate a couple of classic movie references. For example, older audiences may catch a monkey's salute to Apocalypse Now in “I love the smell of bananas in the morning."

While exaggerations by Jim Carey and Steve Carrel sometimes drive the plot in strange directions, the cast lends a familiar and entertaining air to the characters.
