Don’t get sick this week.
Student Health Services will be closed due to ongoing construction in Student Union Building I, today through Wednesday, according to an e-mail sent to the Mason community.
According to the message, SHS will re-open Thursday at 8:30 a.m. for walk-in appointments only and will close at 7:30 p.m. The office will be open for walk-in appointments again Friday from noon to 4:30 p.m.
The Immunization Office will also be closed until Thursday. The pharmacy will be closed throughout the week, pending an inspection that will allow it to reopen. The Insurance Office, however, will remain open for normal hours this week.
In the event of a medical emergency, students are advised to dial 911. Another resource available to students this week is the free, Sirona Health after-hours advice line, which can be reached by calling 703-993-2831. Students can also visit the SHS website for details about health services on Mason’s Arlington and Prince William campuses.
Urgent care can also be provided at Inova Emergency Services, located at 4315 Chain Bridge Rd. and at Med-First Urgent Care Center at 9452 Main St.
Pharmacy prescriptions can be filled at Giant Pharmacy, in University Mall, on Braddock Road across from campus, and CVS Pharmacy, at 10390 Willard Way.
Students using these off-campus services are advised to bring their insurance information and know that they will be responsible for all fees.
SHS will resume normal operating hours Saturday. Regular office hours can be viewed here.
Student Union Building I has been undergoing construction during this semester as part of a university initiative to centralize services for students.
