Presentation should give students new outlook on the dating game
Healthy dating and sexual assault expert Mike Domitrz will present his acclaimed Can I Kiss You? program this Tuesday, Nov 8, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Dewberry Hall. Can I Kiss You? is a presentation on the importance of active consent that combines humor and role play to give students a new perspective on the dating game. Creative interaction will give participants a new outlook on how unhealthy dating behaviors affect both men and women. Domitrz has spoken at numerous high schools, colleges, and universities since he started the program in 1990.
Hoopla! Party gives Patriots a chance to jump into the new basketball season
In order to celebrate the opening of the basketball season, Student Involvement is putting on the Hoopla! Black Party this Friday, Nov 11 at 3 p.m. in Lot A. Students can participate in basketball themed activities and get their hair and face painted in preparation for the games. Green and gold pom-poms, beads, and shades will be available for those who want to take their patriot pride to the next level. Students are encouraged to wear green and gold, as the most spirited fans will win prizes.
Basketball season to open with double header
The men’s and women’s Patriots are kicking off the basketball season with a double header this Friday, Nov 11 following the Hoopla! Block Party. Women’s basketball will play first as they take on American University at 5 p.m., followed by men’s basketball versus Rhode Island at 7. As always, students are eligible for free admission with their Mason ID.
Bollywood night sure to make students want to dance
Mason’s Indian Students Association and Bengali Patriot Association are holding Bollywood Movie Night, this Wednesday, Nov 9 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the JC Cinema. ISA invites anyone to help choose what films will be played by posting on the event Facebooalk wall or dropping a note in their inbox. Free snacks and drinks will be provided.
Honors College discussion to shed light on American education system
The Honors College and Teach for America will be holding a discussion regarding the current state of American education called Occupy the Classroom this Wednesday, Nov 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the Piedmont Multi-Purpose Room. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to read this article and then participate in the discussion. Information about the opportunities available through Teach for America will be provided, and food will be offered as well. The event is open to all Mason students, but attendees must RSVP here.
