Testival Event Promotes Monthly Self-Exams

By Broadside News Editor Asma Chaudhary

Testival intends to raise awareness and make medical knowledge fun, as George Mason University students will learn more about testicular cancer and its effects on April 30 at the Fairfax campus.

According to information placed on flyers for the event, the Testival will focus on monthly self-exams similar in response to the annual Breastival, which raises awareness towards breast cancer and prevention.

Although the event is geared towards men, everyone is encouraged to attend the Testival in order to promote understanding. In addition, the event is free and will feature games, food and prizes.

The event will be held on the Johnson Center North Plaza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is sponsored by the Office of Alcohol, Drug and Health Education.
