As part of a growing effort to embrace George Mason University, the City of Fairfax has announced a new logo to be added to volunteer firefighter shirts.
The logo, which reads "Protector of the Patriots," was announced a few weeks after road decals were painted on a number of roads in Old Town Fairfax.
Fairfax Mayor Scott Silverthorne said he was "proud of [the] City's Fire and Rescue services for partnering with George Mason University to develop [the logos]."
In the next couple of months, the Fairfax Volunteer Firefighter Board will decide whether to place the logos on Station 3 firetrucks.
Silverthorne also thanked President Ángel Cabrera "for a relationship that gets stronger every day."
