Patriots' Bats Dormant in Loss to Monarchs

George Mason's baseball team suffered a 12-4 defeat at the hands of Old Dominion University at Spuhler Field Friday afternoon. The Monarchs (14-11) improved their record in the Colonial Athletic Association to 6-4, while Mason (11-13) dropped to 6-3 in conference play.
Associate Director for Greek Life To Depart

In a recent mass e-mail sent to the Mason Greek community, assistant director for Fraternity and Sorority Life, Michelle Guobadia, announced her leave at the end of the semester. By leaving Mason, Guobadia is set to work with the dean of students to become the associate dean for Greek Life at the University of North Carolina. According to her announcement, Guobadia will leave in May of this year but will continue to work until a replacement is hired to the position.
Protestors Oppose Each Other at Health Expo

Amongst the booths and activities at this year’s George Mason University Health Expo, there was a protestor opposing the military recruitment occurring and additional protestors defending those recruiters. The protesting began after Mason student and former member of the United States military Tariq Khan spotted military recruiters talking to students in front of the Health Expo’s rock climbing wall.

Concealed Carry on Campus Week at GMU

Concealed Carry on Campus Week starts March 31 for the GMU College Republicans. They will man kiosks with information on gun rights throughout the week.

Health and Fitness Expo is a Hit

At Mason’s Health and Fitness Expo March 26-27, students had the opportunity to receive health screenings, and learn about nutrition and other health awareness issues. The expo boasted over 80 vendors, ranging from health beverages to AIDS and HIV awareness, to the Washington Humane Society, according to Student Health Services Chairman Carol Filak.
Provost Review Committee Asks Your Opinion

President Merten asked the Provost Review Committee to evaluate the performance and continued contributions of Provost Peter Stearns and make a recommendation to the President. The Provost Review Committee extended an invitation to everyone in the Mason community to assist in this evaluation.

VoxPop Talent Show to Feature East on Orange

VoxPop will be hosting their first talent show, VoxPop & Lock It, on Thursday, April 3 from 12-2 p.m. in the JC Atrium. Among student performers, "Lock It" will feature East on Orange, an indie/acoustic/rock band from Stafford, Va.
