By Broadside Staff Writer Will Scullion

After a slow start Friday night, the 11th-ranked George Mason men’s volleyball team rebounded to defeat the Loyola (Ill.) Ramblers 3-2 at the Field House for their sixth win in a row.

“It’s always a tough match,” George Mason coach Fred Chao said. “Over the years they’ve been real good and they’ve hurt us real bad. It’s good now that we can compete.”

In many ways, Lloyd Carrera is the opposite of what he was 16 years ago. His brother, Larry Craig Carrera, died of AIDS in 1992, and Lloyd had to come to terms with his brother’s sexual orientation only a year and a half earlier.

Now, Carrera, Coordinator of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Student Services for the Office of Disability Services at George Mason University, feels he’s been given a second chance. His daughter, Lianna, told him she was gay in high school, but the ensuing years have been very different than his early interactions with his brother.

By Connect Mason Reporter Emily Culley

Be warned. 5,160 seconds is how long you will have to count down to reach the end of "Superhero Movie", give or take a couple hundred seconds for the "Incredible Hulk" trailer. Granted, "Superhero Movie" is not nearly as bad as the other spoofs have been in the recent years, using classics such as the "Naked Gun" series as inspiration — as well as actor Leslie Neilson.

Geez, this guy was there when Mason beat UConn. Wonder if he said anything like this.

Bruce Pearl... no wonder you go to Vols' women's games in just body paint.

Despite being a good roundup of what happened yesterday, this photo probably went through Photoshop. If it didn't, one of the great pictures ever.

From that to one of the more disturbing photos ever, a female cyclist has been called out in the BALCO case for being caught in the act of... shaving her face. That seems just wrong. But, go here. That is her photo on the right. Please, do not throw up on your computer... wait, you already did.
