COMM 399 Course Focuses On Islam

A new course to be added next semester titled, “Covering Islam Today,” will be a special topic section, which will incorporate reporting on the Islamic culture and its current effect on the world.
The course, which will be held on Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:10 p.m., will be taught by Professor Jonathan Lyons who has studied comparisons in the news between the Muslim world and the West.
Mason's AVT Program Among The Best

According to a Mason Gazette article, the department of art and visual technology has been recognized as one of the top 100 graduate programs in the country. The recent discovery was made when the program was listed in a U.S. News and World Report.
AVT department chair and professor Harold Linton discussed his satisfaction with the title as well as what it means to the university.

Lately at George Mason University, politics has been in students’ faces, from classroom discussions and paper assignments to the heated debates seen both on television and in the Johnson Center and with this historical election year.
Students at Mason have different levels of involvement in politics, but it is important to find some of the most politically well-versed, outspoken and active ones to share their voice on what matters to them in 2008.
UNIV 400 Provides Real World Transition

According to a recent e-mail sent out from the Communications department at George Mason University, a one-credit course titled, UNIV 400 will provide strategies for students who are looking for jobs either during the summer or after college. Therefore, the course is geared towards juniors and seniors.

Clinton is a 'Monster.' This Isn’t Fun Anymore

We entered into this contest riding high on a Wave of Change. Whatever the outcome, it was going to be something other than Bush. Shining white teeth opened to wildly spew promises out of these hopeful nominees’ mouths, out of our television sets, and we relished it being covered in their guarantees and saliva. We damn well deserved to feel good about politics again.
Iron Man: The Total Package

While “Iron Man” doesn’t break any new ground, it is proof that Hollywood is finally perfecting the comic book movie. This film gives fans the comedy and one-liners they wanted from “Spider-Man,” the hard-hitting action they wanted from “Hulk,” and the realism they wanted from “Fantastic Four.” Add to the mix a solid story, some amazing effects, and a hint of romance and you get the first major blockbuster of the summer.
