I really wish they would have more shirts available to students on special occasion...on Testival, they kept on running out, and they ran out of Mason Nation shirts during this Welcome Week in less than 5 minutes!

Live Music Nights At Dolce Vita

By Broadside Correspondent Marian McLaughlin

With the death of T.T. Reynold’s this past summer, Mason students may be looking for new eateries and bars to spend their days and nights at. Dolce Vita, a tiny Italian restaurant right off of Fairfax Boulevard, may be a welcoming answer for anyone who is looking for appetizing, resonably-priced food with a good wine selection.

Although there is a stark difference between the atmospheres and styles of both places, Dolce Vita’s classy layout is just as humbling as T.T. Reynold’s packed porch used to be. Co-owner and chef Giuseppe Ricciardi and his staff are both warm and friendly and constantly greet and chat with customers. There are a number of sitting options available ranging from the bar near their face-shaped brick oven to intimate corners tucked away in the back.

Bonnaroo: A Student Recap

By Broadside Correspondent Marian McLaughlin

Every June for the past three years, a few friends and I have made the long trek down Highway 81 and all the other routes and roads to get to Manchester, Tennessee for Bonnaroo, a four-day music and arts festival. The drive itself is an estimated 10-hour trip, but all the necessary pit stops and festival traffic sometimes doubles the travel time. Many people I know feel that the ticket cost, which can range between $200 to $300 depending on time of purchase, and the hassle of getting there is not worth their time, but once you arrive to the grounds and get settled in, you’ll find that the experience as a whole is worth every cent.

Along the way, Raffety will stop at several college campuses in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin to interview faculty and students interested in the upcoming election.

“Did China win The 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics? That’s impossible!”

The 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics has officially ended on Sunday, however, for George Mason students the Olympics are far from over. In such a diverse campus as ours, where people represent a lot of different nations, the question of who truly won the Olympics is expected to be one of the debates of the year.
