Cabrera 'all for' football, if able to pay
|Mason currently has a club football team, but last week during a meet-and-greet with the Faculty Senate, incoming president Angel Cabrera left at least some room for more.
Women's hoops season comes to an end with loss to JMU
|Plagued by turnovers all night, George Mason lost in the quarterfinals to second-seeded James Madison, 64-54, at the CAA Championships in Upper Marlboro, Md. Amber Easter, who finished with 11 points in the game, committed a team high seven turnovers.

The Johnson Center will be open 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. from Saturday, March 10 to Sunday, March 17.
Paul wins University precinct, more than doubles Romney’s 10 votes
|Ron Paul won the new University precinct on Super Tuesday with a total of only 22 votes.
Mitt Romney, who was declared the state-wide Virginia winner on Wednesday, received 10 votes in the precinct in which registered on-campus students can cast their ballot. The two GOP rivals were the only candidates on the March 6 ballot.
Cabrera on open search: 'Probably not'
|Incoming university president Ángel Cabrera told a Faculty Senate member Wednesday that if the presidential search was open, he likely wouldn’t have continued through the process.
“Probably not,” Cabrera told Faculty Senate member Stanley Zoltek at an informal meet-and-greet. “It would have damaged my reputation.”
Women’s hoops ends six-year winless drought in CAA Tournament
|Riding a late rally in the second half, the George Mason Patriots pulled away from Northeastern for their first win in the CAA Women’s Basketball Championships since 2006 by a final count of 70-60 Thursday night. The win helps prove that this program is on the upswing, led by head coach Jeri Porter and her recruiting classes, anchored by junior Amber Easter.
“It feels good to get a win, but we know we have to get right back at it tomorrow. There is no sitting around,” assistant coach Greg Pulliam said.

|Mason Cable Network and the Program Board are hosting a Spring Break Film Challenge with a big cash prize.
Einstein Bros. Bagels to arrive in April
|The upcoming arrival of a new Einstein Bros. Bagels to the Fairfax campus marks the beginning of an expansion of dining options near the Southeast neighborhood.
The bagel eatery, set to open April 1 in the Nyugen Engineering building, will offer a full menu of soups, salads and bagel varieties while doubling as a coffee shop.
Mark Kraner, executive director of campus retail operations, said the new dining option comes in response to an expressed need for more dining facilities close to President’s Park.
