The Last Monarchs to perform in Student Media office

The Last Monarchs will perform this Friday in the new Student Media office in Student Union Building II, now called “the Hub.”

The Last Monarchs who describe themselves as a four piece acoustic indie folk band will be the first in the concert series “Sessions.” The series is sponsored by WGMU and Mason Cable Network and each concert will be filmed by MCN. MCN will then make a music video of each concert.

Andy Zipf will perform on April 15 and the Dreamscapes Project will be playing on April 22.

The Last Monarchs say they’re influenced by a variety of groups including The Decembrists, Elliott Smith, Bob Dylan, Sufjan Stevens and Paul Simon, according to their Facebook page.

The event is open to everyone and will start at 8:00 p.m. in Conference Room 12 in the Student Media office.
