Online housing selection 'paused', remaining students to be contacted
The Office of Housing Residence "paused" the housing selection process for the 2011 - 2012 academic year on Monday due to problems in the software, according to a message posted on the office's website.
Selection for those who chose not to retain their room assignment began this morning. According to several reports, some students were successful in securing a space – many after hitting refresh multiple times, or making it part-way through the process, only to have to restart do a "Service Unavailable" message – but the majority were not able to complete the process.
All students remaining in the process will be contacted with new instructions, according to the message which appeared online early Monday evening.
Full text of the message, which appears whenever a student tries to access the system, is posted below:
Due to the slowing down of the selection software, we have paused the housing selection process. We will be contacting all students remaining in the process with new instructions for selecting your room. We appreciate your patience while we correct the issues with selection.
Thank you,
Office of Housing and Residence life
The same system is used for making deposits for students who chose to retain their housing for next, an item that is currently still due by April 8.
