Action packed Bollywood film to be screened on campus

The Office of Diversity Programs and Services is screening the Bollywood action movie "Dabangg" this Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the JC Cinema.  "Dabangg" stars Salman Khan as a crooked cop who battles India’s criminal underworld and participates in flashy Bollywood dance numbers. Real life Angry Birds to give students opportunity to break down walls of stress

The Program Board is hosting Get Angry (Birds) in Dewberry Hall on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will use a slingshot to break down elaborately built constructions using plush versions of the famous Angry Birds as well as stuffed frogs. The event will include other games and activities, including hamburger races, as well. Part of Destress Fest.

Upcoming concert gives audience a chance to give back

Folk and jazz pianist George Winston will be performing a set that seeks to evoke the spirit of the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of canned food to the concert, which will go towards supporting a Washington area food bank. Mr. Winston will be donating a portion of the proceeds from CD sales to the food bank as well. Limited student tickets are available with a valid Mason ID. Tickets on sale for the public for $48, $40, and $24.        

Local comedian to perform at JC Cinema

Comedian Lucas Bohn, who has worked with the likes of Dave Chapelle, Jimmy Fallon, and Kevin Hart, will be performing at the JC Cinema on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 9 p.m. Bohn is known for his regular appearances at DC improv and comedy clubs as well as his performances at colleges up and down the east coast. Doors open at 8:45 p.m. and the show is free.  Presented by the Program Board. This event is also part of Destress Fest.

Country Music festival set to rock Patriot Center

Country station 98.7 WZMQ will be holding WinterFest 2011 on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Patriot Center. Country musicians Sonia Leigh, Kip Moore, Josh Thompson, David Nail, Thompson Square, Kellie Pickler, and Rodney Atkins are scheduled to perform. Special VIP tickets are available for $99, with general tickets on sale for $30-$55. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the show begins at 5:30 p.m.
