Obama Officially Wins N.C. (Missouri Still TIED)

Recently in my article "Final Election Tally '08," I had declared North Carolina in favor of Barack Obama. But according to Yahoo!'s Political Dashboard and numerous reports suggested the state was still considered a tie.

Now, after careful examination of the county-to-county polls in North Carolina (which hasn't been won by a Democrat since 1976 when Jimmy Carter swept the state), the state is officially a blue state this election.

In an almost 13,700 deficit, the polls still show Obama 50% to McCain 50%, but is in Obama's favor with 100% precincts reported.

Now, the final tallies we anticipate are the Missouri numbers. The state shows a close to 5,900 deficit in favor of John McCain. Like Obama, they will likely call the state in McCain's favor, considering 100% of the precincts are reported there as well.

This will make the final official tally OBAMA: 364 to MCCAIN: 173, exceeding my predictions, which was OBAMA: 338 to MCCAIN: 200.
