WGMU's The Morning Breakdown talks with Coach Hewitt
Coming off a blowout exhibition win earlier this week, head coach Paul Hewitt made an appearance on the Morning Breakdown Wednesday to discuss the start of the upcoming season, which begins Nov. 11 (The Morning Breakdown).
WGMU's The Morning Breakdown had George Mason men's head basketball coach Paul Hewitt on the air Wednesday morning to talk about the team's recent exhibition victory and the upcoming season.
The squad defeated the Lycoming Warriors, 90-62, in their exhibition contest Monday night in the Patriot Center. Despite the wide margin of victory, Hewitt was not satisfied with the team's effort and sees several areas of improvement.
"We didn't play great defense, we didn't box out enough, we didn't pass the ball inside enough, we didn't get back on defense in the last couple of minutes, our three-point shooting defense wasn't good in the first half," Hewitt said.
They now have less than 10 days to prepare for their opening night game against the Rhode Island Rams on Nov. 11 in a home doubleheader with the women's team.
