|When I think of a cute place for college couples to find alone time on campus, I think of a secluded bench amidst a grassy quad. I think of the quietest part on campus surrounded by trees and flowers rather than buildings and sidewalks.
What I definitely do not think of is Mason Pond. Yet oddly enough, that is where many Mason couples decide to spend their alone time.
'Fantasy' captures Mason sports fans, adds new dimension to Sunday football
|On NFL Sundays, fans used to sit on the couch and watch the games, perhaps with little personal interest unless their favorite team was playing. Watching football was arguably more of a passive activity.
Those days are long gone. They have been replaced by a more active and involved -- yet even more virtual-- experience of football and other professional sports. Adding a new dimension to every pass and play, online "fantasy" has changed the game.
Five-year plan to bolster student scholarship, create research opportunities
|With the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools set to visit George Mason University in March as part of the reaccreditation process, work continues on the Quality Enhancement Plan that is part of SACS’ requirements.
In order to receive reaccreditation, SACS requires schools to come up with a five-year plan to improve an issue related to student learning at the institution.

Art & Design building receives Fairfax County design award
|The Art and Design building on the George Mason University campus was built in August 2009. Now, one year later, the building received a prestigious award from Fairfax County.
The Art building, located behind Innovation hall, won the 2010 Exceptional Design Award. The Board of Supervisors recognized the builders Oct. 19.
