Congratulations to junior forward Ryan Pearson, who was dubbed the CAA’s best player of last week. He played a significant role in both of the Patriots’ victories over Northeastern on the road and Georgia State at home. He averaged 19 points and 5.5 rebounds per game over the two contests.

He reached a career milestone with 24 points in the win against Northeastern, and also added a team-high six rebounds. He followed that effort with 14 points and five rebounds against Georgia State. He went 13-20 from the field and 10-12 from the free-throw line over that span.

For the season, Pearson is averaging 14.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, and is second on the team in both categories.

This is the first weekly award for Pearson since capturing two Rookie of the Week awards during his freshman campaign. He is the first Patriot of the season to capture the honor and the first player on the squad to reach 24 points.

The team returns to action Wednesday when they host Drexel at 9 p.m. They will be looking for their third straight conference victory. They currently sit at 4-2 in the CAA, just one game back of the leaders.
